Ashland - Ashland Summerfest includes fireworks on July 5, 2015 at the Ashland Fish & Game Club at 9:15 p.m. For more info phone (207) 435-2176.
Augusta - July 4, 2016 is the culmination of the Whatever Family Festival (which runs from June 15 through July 4). Big bash at the riverfront at Augusta Mill Park on July 4th, including a parade at 4 p.m. departing from the State Capitol and culminating with fireworks at Augusta Mill Park on July 4, 2016, at around 9:15 p.m. For info phone (207) 626-2350 or the KVCC at 623-4559.
Bangor - Annual Bangor Independence Day celebration. It starts on July 4th, 2016, with a pancake breakfast at the Brewer Auditorium from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. This is followed by a parade starting at 11 a.m. that works its way from Brewer, across the Penobscot River to Bangor. Festivities, including a free concert, continue on the Bangor Waterfront from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., culminating with fireworks over the Penobscot River on the 4th.
Bar Harbor - Independence Day Celebration - The 2016 Bar Harbor Fourth of July Celebration starts with a Blueberry Pancake Breakfast at the Bar Harbor Athletic Field on Park Street from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by a Seafood Festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other events include a craft fair at the YMCA at 21 Park Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. And don't forget the nnual Independence Day Parade which starts at 10 a.m. and winds from Main Street to Cottage Street to Eden Street to Mt. Desert Street and ending at Ledgelawn Avenue. Head down to the waterfront for the afternoon concert series from 3:30 p.m. and continuing the way up the fireworks," which will be on July 4, 2016 at the pier on Frenchman Bay. Bath Heritage Days - July 1-4, 2016. Four days of July 4th activities, with a fireworks finale over the Kennebec River at the Bath waterfront on Monday, July 4th at 9 p.m. For more info call Main Street Bath at (207) 442-7291.
Beals - The 2016 Moosabec Summer Fest in the towns of Beals & Jonesport features activities from June 6 through July 4, 2016. Fireworks will be on July 4, 2016, at Perio Point on the A.C. Inc. property firing over the water at around 9:15 p.m.
Belgrade - A small town celebration from sunrise to well into the evening. Music, wide variety of yummy foods, kids games, specials throughout the Belgrade Lakes Village shops, frog jumping contest and ending the day with a fireworks display over Long Pond on July 4th, 2016.
Bethel - Fourth of July Community Picnic & Portland Brass Quintet Concert. This long-standing event includes a free two-hour concert by the Portland Brass Quintet! Picnic, presentation of colors and the National Anthem, concert. All in the sweetest setting. Begins at 11:30 a.m. on the side lawn of the Dr. Moses Mason House (14 Broad Street). Bring your lunch and after the presentation of colors and the National Anthem, enjoy a two-hour concert by the Portland Brass Quintet. In case of rain, the concert and picnic will be held at the Middle Intervale Meetinghouse (1816) on Intervale Road, approximately four miles downriver from Bethel Hill village. As for pyrotechnics, there will be fireworks at the Sunday River Resort in front of the South Ridge Lodge at 9 p.m. on July 4th and also at the Bethel Inn at 21 Broad Street (private) on July 4th, 2015.
Boothbay & Boothbay Harbor - Fourth of July 2015 in Boothbay starts with a family-friendly celebration on the Boothbay Common with crafts (a two-day craft show), children's games, chicken barbeque and music. Head on over to Boothbay Harbor in the evening for fireworks over the Harbor. Fired from a barge near McFarland Island, the fireworks begin at 9 p.m. on the 4th.
Bridgton - The 2015 Independence Day Celebration in Bridgton occurs on July 3rd on the grounds of the Stevens Brook School. Starting at about 10 a.m. in the morning there are crafters, food vendors, and a community band performing on the gazebo. The fireworks begin at about 9 p.m. in the evening of July 3rd, also at Stevens Brook School. For more info call the Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce at (207) 647-3472.
Brunswick - The Brunswick Rotary and the Town of Brunswick/Brunswick Downtown Association will be offering their annual 4th of July Games on the Town Mall from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for Brunswick area kids of all ages on July 4. Participation in traditional races and games is free to all and includes Relay Games, 3-Legged Races, a Pie Eating Contest, Wheelbarrow Races, Sack Races and a Watermelon Eating Contest. Camden - Camden's 2016 Independence Day celebration is centered in Harbor Park. Included is the Camden Rotary's Music by the Sea concert from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Camden Harbor Park & Amphitheatre, which features free Independence Day performances by Mes Amis (acoustic gypsy jazz) at 2 p.m., Casco Bay Wind Symphony (popular favorites) at 3:30 p.m., Roosevelt Dime (rhythm and blues) at 5 p.m., and David Dodson and The Lowdown featuring Jon and Rachel Nicolas (folk, rock, blues and country) at 7:45 p.m. Spectacular fireworks over the harbor at 9 p.m. For more info contact the Camden Rotary at (207) 236-3440 or the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce at (207) 236-4404.
Caribou - Fireworks on July 3, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. at Spuds Speedway, 209 Thompson Road in Caribou.
Carrabassett Valley - The 2015 Independence Day celebration in Carrabassett Valley starts on July 4th at noon at the Town Park. The pool will be open and there will be activities for the kids from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and also a band from 4 p.m. until the evening. All followed by fireworks at about 9:15 p.m. at the Carrabassett Valley Airport across from Ayottes Store on Route 27. More info will be posted at some point on the Carrabassett Valley town website though it is easiest to call the town office at (207) 235-2645.
Casco - Fireworks, not open to the public, on Monday, July 6, 2015 from a raft offshore at Point Sebago Resort. These fireworks are for the guests of Point Sebago. For more info call the Point Sebago Resort at (207) 655-3821. Also in Casco on July 4, 2015 at 9 p.m. are fireworks at the Camp Laurel South swimming docks. Rain date July 5. According to the Fire Marshal these are open to the public, but I have called the camp and this is not true. This is a children's camp and the fireworks are not public. However, the fireworks are visible from a public beach off of Edwards Road.
South Casco - Fireworks open to the public on July 4th, 2015 on the docks in South Casco. Rain date July 5.
Castine - Annual 4th of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2015. The celebration includes a parade at 10 a.m. a the Town Common, followed by games & food also on the Common and the Castine Town Band at 4 p.m. At the town dock starting at 7 p.m. there will be live music until 9 p.m. followed by fireworks lauched from a float on the harbor. Cherryfield - Fireworks on June 27, 2015 at Cherryfield Farm on Elm Street. Pyrotechnics display at 9:15 p.m. Rain date June 28.
Damariscotta - 2015 events in Damariscotta include a live band from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the downtown parking lot, followed by fireworks off Gay's Point, both on on July 4th. Rain date July 5..
Deer Isle - Stonington - 2015 Independence Day celebration activities are on July 4th. Celebrate Independence Day on the Island! Parade, community band & Color Guard, Stonington Six road races, fish pier events, live entertainment and fireworks at dusk. Denmark - Fireworks on July 11, 2015 at 9 p.m. at Four Wheeler Trail off of Picket Hill Road. Rain date July 12, 2015.
Dexter - Fireworks on July 3, 2015 at Dexter High School Football Field, 12 Abbott Hill Road, at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Eastport - 4th of July - Billed as the largest July 4th celebration in Maine, with events scheduled from July 2, 2015 (the day after Canada Day, with its own fireworks on Deer Island Point Park in New Brunswick on July 1), continuing through July 5th. There are literally dozens of scheduled events, including the Grand Independence Parade, concerts at Overlook Park, greasy pole and water sports, antique car show, contests and games for all ages with prizes and of course Fireworks over the Bay seen from the downtown Eastport waterfront on July 4th. Arriving in the morning of July 2, 2015 will be the Pearl Mist, a luxury cruise ship.
Farmington - Fireworks on July 3, 2015 at Prescott Field off of Front Street in Farmington at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Fayette - Fireworks (private) on July 4, 2015 at around 9 p.m. on the docks at the Camp Vega in Fayette. Rain date July 5, 2015. May be visible from locations outside of the camp.
Freeport - July 4, 2015 in Freeport is the kick-off day for L.L. Bean's annual Summer in the Park celebration. On the 4th there is a road race & fun run at 7:30 a.m. & 9:10 a.m., a free concert in Discovery Park by the Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks starting around 9 p.m.
Frye Island - Fireworks at the Long Beach Marina area off Leisure Lane on Frye Island on July 4th at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Greenville - A fun day of games, crafts, food vendors and parade at the East Cove of Moosewood Lake in Greenville followed by fireworks on July 4, 2015 at 9 p.m. also at the East Cove midway between the IF&W Building and the Forestry Building. Rain date July 5.
Harpswell / Bailey Island - Fireworks on July 5, 2015 at about 9 p.m. at Cooks Lobster House Point, 86 Garrison Cove Road. Rain date July 6. See also South Harpswell.
Houlton - Houlton's 2015 Midnight Madness event at Market Square downtown runs from 5 p.m. to midnight on July 3, 2015 with music, street sales and family activities, ending with fireworks at Riverfront Park at 9:30 p.m. The following day, July 4th, features a parade at 10 a.m. and also many events at the concurrent Houlton Fair, which has its own very large fireworks display in the evening.
Islesboro - Fireworks on July 3 at about 9 p.m. at Grindle Point across from the ferry terminal dock. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Jackman - Fireworks on July 4th at the field behind the Town Office (369 Main Street) at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Jay - Fireworks on July 3, 2015 at Spruce Mountain Ski Area at 9 p.m. Rain date is July 5.

Kennebunk - Fireworks on July 4th on Gooch's Beach across from the Narragansett Condos at 9:10 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Lewiston/Auburn Liberty Festival and Facebook - July 4, 2015. The Lewiston Auburn Liberty Festival is an annual 4th of July event held at the Great Falls Plaza in Auburn and in Veteran's Park in Lewiston with bands, entertainment and food vendors. Fireworks finale date TBA at 9:30 p.m. at West Pich Park over Looking Falls in Auburn. For more info email email@example.com.
Limestone - Fireworks at Cavendish Farms potato field of of Pond View Street in Limestone, Maine on July 4th at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Limington - Fireworks at a field on the south side of Mill Pond on property owned by William Harmon in Limington, Maine on July 3rd at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Livermore - Fireworks on July 3 at around 9:30 p.m. at 807 Boothby Road in Livermore. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Lubec - Fireworks in Lubec will be on July 5, 2015 in the harbor off of the Lubec boat landing at 9 p.m. Rain date July 6, 2015.
Machias - Fireworks on July 4, 2015 from a clearing on Middle River at 9:30 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Millinocket - The 2015 Millinocket 4th of July Homecoming Celebration starts with a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by a parade at 11 a.m. which begins at the shopping plaza on Central Street. This is followed by an alumni music fest at Stearns High School. Fireworks at around 9 p.m. also at Stearns High School. For more info phone the Katahdin Area Chamber of Commerce at (207) 723-4443.
Mt. Vernon - Freworks on July 4th, 2015 on a knoll in a back field of the Leighton property at 8 Belgrade Road at 9 p.m. This appears to be related to a concert to be held at the same location by Gerald Slavet Concert Productions.
Naples - Public fireworks from a raft on Long Lake in Naples on July 4, 2015 at 9:15 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Newport - Sebasticook Lake Association fireworks on July 11, 2015 at 9 p.m. at the Elaine Tardy landing off of Route 2 in Newport. Rain date July 12.
Oakland - Fireworks (private) on July 4, 2015 at around 9 p.m. on at Camp Manitou in Oakland. Rain date July 5, 2015. May be visible from locations outside of the camp.
Ogunquit - Fireworks on July 4, 2015 on Ogunquit's Main Beach, southwest corner of the parking lot at 9:15 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2014. Preceding the fireworks a local DJ will be playing music as people gather for the event. For more info call the Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce at (207) 646-2939.
Old Orchard Beach - Independence Day fireworks will be held in OOB on July 3, 2016. They'll be set off by the Old Orchard Beach Pier and Palace Playland on the beach at about 9:45 p.m. For more info call (207) 934-2500.
Otis - Fireworks on July 4th, 2015 on Otis Pond at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Oxford - Fireworks on July 3rd, 2015 at about 9:15 p.m. in the center of the track area at the Oxford Plains Speedway.
Penobscot - Fireworks on July 11, 2105 at 9:15 p.m. behind the Penobscot Town Hall at 1 Southern Bay Road. Rain date July 12, 2015.
Phippsburg - Fireworks on July 2, 2015 behind the tennis courts overlooking the pond at Sebasco Harbor Resort in Phippsburg. Rain date July 3, 2015. Though stated to be public by the Fire Marshal, these are resort fireworks. They may be visible from spots outside of the resort.
Poland Spring - Fireworks (shown as public by the Maine Fire Marshal) on July 3, 2015 at the Poland Spring Golf Course at Poland Spring Resort at 9:15 p.m.
Portland - July 4, 2016 (rain date is July 5). The annual 4th of July Festival in Portland, Maine is the Stars and Stripes Spectacular. Opening ceremony at 7 p.m., the Patriotic Pops concert starts at 7:40 p.m. with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and special guest artist Melissa Manchester. The evening culminates with dazzling pyrotechnics, as fireworks arch over Casco Bay from Portland's East End Promenade at 9:20 p.m. Food vendors will be on site. Rangeley - July 3, 2015. Rangeley Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd with events all day and fireworks at the town park dusk. Events start at 10 a.m.
Raymond - Private fireworks at the Kingsley Pines Camp docks in Raymond on July 4, 2015. Rain date July 5. To see whether you can attend call the camp at (207) 894-9030 .
Rumford - Fireworks on July 4, 2015 at Hosmer Field Athletic Complex at 9 :15 p.m. Rain date July 5.
Saco - Fireworks on July 3, 2015 at the Funtown/Splashtown USA rear parking lot, 774 Portland Road, at 9:30 p.m.
Sanford - Fireworks in Sanford are on July 3, 2015 at Number 1 Pond by Riverside and Emery Roads at dusk. Rain date is July 5. More activities are scheduled for the 4th, including an Independence Day parade. For more info contact Sanford Parks & Recreation at (207) 324-9130.
Scarborough - Pine Point in Scarborough will celebrate the 4th of July in 2015 with a parade and kid's Fun Run. Registration for the Fun Run for kids ages 3 to 14 starts at 8 a.m. at Engine 4 on King Street in Pine Point. Prizes for the best decorated person, bike/wagon, and dog in the parade will be awarded. The winner of the race will carry the flag in the parade. Join us all for strawberry shortcake after the parade at Engine 4 Firehouse on King Street. For more info call (207) 883-4404.
Also in Scarborough, fireworks at the Scarborough Municipal Landfill & inside the track at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on July 3 at 9 p.m. Rain date July 4, 2015.
Searsport - Parade in downtown Searsport at 11 a.m. on July 4, 2015, followed by rowboat races at the Hamilton Wharf, and then an auction at the United Methodist Church in downtown Searsport. In the evening, at about 9 p.m. on July 4th, come out to Mosman Park for Independence Day fireworks (the rain date is July 5, 2015). Sebec - Fireworks on July 4, 2015 at about 9:15 p.m. in the field area across from the Sebec Village Reading Room. Raind date July 5, 2015.
South Harpswell - Fireworks on July 4th at 70 Whites Point Road at 9:15 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Southwest Harbor - Join us for a wonderful fireworks display to help celebrate the Fourth Of July. The fireworks will be launched off the Acadia Fuel Barge on July 4, 2016, and will be readily visible throughout the harbor area. Stratton - Fireworks on June 27, 2015 at the field next to Flagstaf Lake, intersection of Route 27 and School Street. Pyrotechnics at 9:15 p.m. Rain date June 28, 2015.
Thomaston July 4th or Thomaston Facebook July 4th - July 4, 2015. This is a large traditional small town Independence Day celebration with a pancake breakfast at the Masonic Hall, a craft tent, a pet show, parade, chicken barbecue, food & vendor booths, dunk tank, games for kids, bouncy houses, horseshoe tournament, musical entertainment, and a grand fireworks finale. Vinalhaven - Firworks on July 4th on top of Bard Island across from the ferry terminal at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015
West Forks - Fireworks on July 4th at 9 p.m. at the camp turn around area where the Dead & Kennebec Rivers meet. Rain date July 5, 2015.
Winslow - The 2015 Fourth of July Celebration in Winslow starts on July 1 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. with music by the Crossin' Mason Dixon Country Rock band, the Back Woods Road Bluegrass band, and Boston, featuring three of its original members. Also on July 1 is the July Idol competition. July 2 is Family Fun and Kids Day with bounce houses, face painting, a petting zoo and more. Also on July 2 is still more music from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. with The Juke Rockets Blues Band, Joel Dupre, Bad Penny Maine, Out of the Blue and Aerosmith tribute band Draw The Line. July 3 is another day of music from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. with the Tiny Kelly Band, The Resistance, 95Hyde, Dyer Neck Gang, and Street Dance in the Park. Finally is July 4th with the Winslow Family July 4th Parade from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by an afteroon and evening of music by the Crockadyles, Cold Blue Steel, Live Wire Reunion, Sharon Hood Dixon Road, Journey tribute band Scarab and the Maine State Police Bag Pipers. Topping it all off at 9:30 p.m. is central Maine's largest fireworks show at Fort Halifax Park.
Winthrop - July 4, 2016, at Norcross Point in Winthrop. Thousands of folks visit Winthrop each year for its annual Fourth of July fireworks display overlooking picturesque Norcross Point at the southern end of Maranacook Lake. The pyrotechnics take place at dusk (around 9 p.m.) on July 4th, 2016. For details phone (207) 377-8020.
