The mission of the Downeast Chapter of Maine Audubon is to educate and engage the people of Hancock County, focusing on birds and wildlife, and their habitats, for the benefit of local communities and their natural environment.  The Chapter offers monthly natural history programs, usually on the third Thursday of each month, field trips (birding, plant walks) and more.

 

 

Merrymeeting AudubonMerrymeeting Audubon

The Merrymeeting Audubon's membership area runs up the Maine coast from Yarmouth to Wiscasset, inland to Augusta, west to Lewiston/Auburn and then to Sebago Lake, and south to Freeport.  Chapter members receive its newsletter, "The Call."

 

 

 

Mid-Coast Audubon SocietyMid-Coast Audubon Society - Events

This chapter of Maine Audubon is based in Rockland, Maine.  It owns 4 refuges open to the public: 40-acre Davis Bog Preserve (white cedar wetland in Morrill), 30-acre Guy VanDuyn Refuge (Waldoboro, with over 80 species of songbird), 95-acre Nelson Nature Preserve (mixed forest to red maple swamp near Friendship Village, with warblers, thrush, woodpeckers) and 3-acre Weskeag River Preserve (shore and dense conifer forest birds).
