The Lincoln Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce's motto should be "We have it." We would like to invite you to come visit and experience what we have to offer. Whatever outdoor activity you are interested in, we have it. Whatever you like to shop for, we have it. Whether you like to stay in a hotel, B&B, sporting lodge or campground, we have it. If you need a guide to hunt or fish with, we have it. With 14 lakes in the Lincoln area alone, there are endless possibilities. Give us a chance to show you what living in Maine is all about. If you want to be surrounded by friendly, down-home people, we definitely have it.
Machias is an Indian name meaning "Bad Little Falls" and these falls run rapidly under the Machias River bridge as you enter our downtown area. We are home to the University of Maine at Machias whose focus is the "Downeast Center for Coastal Studies." The Machias Bay Area is a coastal environment just waiting to be explored by student, visitor, retiree, or anyone relocating to the area. Machias is the county seat of Washington County.
The Greater Madawaska Region includes the communities of Frenchville, Grand Isle, Madawaska, Sinclair, St. David, and St. Agatha. We invite you to experience the unique quality of life and the many opportunities available in our very special corner of America. The towns of the St. John River Valley on both sides of the US-Canadian border constitute the spiritual, cultural and geographical hear of the Acadians. Maine Acadians - like their Canadian brethren - share beliefs and experiences tying them to a river, the land, their families, and to their common religion, languages, and history. Visit our website to find out more about the Acadian Festival, Top Of Maine Mountain Bike Race, International Snowmobile Festival and other events.
