Welcome to the Belfast Area - The heart of Coastal Maine. The population of Waldo County is just 25,000 people, spread over 730 square miles. The most populated towns are Belfast (county seat), Winterport, Lincolnville and Searsport, among the most beautiful and historically interesting towns in Maine. More than half of the county has a population density of fewer than 100 people per square mile.
