Description: The Coastal Journal has been in publication for over forty years, starting out as a "shopper" and has made a slow transition to its present mission as a free weekly newspaper. We distribute approximately 20,000 copies each Thursday as inserts to the Portland Press Herald, and put another 2,000 copies on newsstands throughout our "midcoast Maine" distribution area. There is also a small subscription distribution as well. We have a strong Arts & Entertainment emphasis, supported by excellent contemporary graphics technology. We carry several in-house articles and columns each week, as well as a broad selection of items selected from our generous contributor base. In addition, we make use of several correspondents and contract photographers to further enrich our content.
