The 8th Annual Greater Brunswick Peace Fair is set for Saturday, August 4 and will take place on the Green in downtown Brunswick starting at 10 a.m. This family friendly event is free of charge and invites participants to reflect on how we might each contribute to the creation of a more just and peaceful world. Join us for games and arts activities for children and adults; performances by local musicians; poetry writing and a Conversation Cafe where discussion will focus on the many ways in which we can be building a compassionate and sustainable society. Throughout the day representatives of 30+ Maine non-profit organizations will enjoy talking with you about the work they do to encourage peace building in its many forms - from the personal to the global. Aug 18, 2012. The Brunswick Downtown Association (BDA) will host the 6th Annual Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival. Works from more than 90 artists will be displayed along the sidewalks of Maine Street and the adjacent Town Mall. This juried, fine arts and crafts exhibit represents a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, mixed media, graphics and drawing, photography and fine crafts. A true family event, there will be activities for children, performances from local theater groups, as well as a variety of musical acts throughout the day.
