Jun 02 thru Jun 03, 2012. June Farmers' Pull at Monmouth Fairgrounds. Do you enjoy watching horse and oxen pulling at the local fairs? Here is your chance to have an early preview of this season's Farmers' Pull exhibitors. This pull showcases log and stone boat pulling, including loading logs on a scoot as they would in the woods. Farmer's pulls are done by teamsters who work their horses, mules, steers & oxen on their farms for harvesting wood in the winter, plowing and haying in the summer. A public supper will follow Saturday's pull. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of a new digital timer and scales for the Monmouth Fair pulling facility.
