The Joy of Skiing at the Sunday River Outdoor Center is a dining adventure for a good cause. Perfect for cross-country skiers and snowshoers of all levels, the Joy of Skiing offers designated dining locations along the trails with traditional food favorites, including freshly made donuts served trailside and hot Sunday River Brew Pub soup at the covered bridge, plus s'mores at the firepit and more! Each hour between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. a different dining station along the trail will open. Pre-register for $6 or pay $7 at the door. Kids 6-12 and seniors 65+ pay $4; kids 5 and under and those 80+ participate for free, in addition to the normal trail and rental fees. Proceeds benefit the American Lung Association of Maine. Appetite for Destruction has been paying tribute to Guns N' Roses for over ten years, packing out venues throughout the tri-state area. Their catalog of Guns N' Roses songs is greater than that of any other tribute band in the country. They are able to perform over fifty songs. The 80’s and 90’s are long gone but tribute bands like Appetite for Destruction keep the experience going for all to enjoy. Word has it that these guys are a better show than the original, but that will be up to you to decide, so get out to this show and check them out! Performance at 8 p.m. at the Foggy Goggle. You will have the opportunity to compete in one of three courses that range in difficulty from tough to absolutely crazy hard. The 4-mile course is do-able for most athletes and tops one peak, the 8-mile course covers 5 peaks and the 12-mile course covers all 8 peaks of Sunday River.
