May 25 thru May 31, 2012. Amy Durocher "Calm and Wonder" Photography Exhibit at Lincoln Center for the Arts. Amy Durocher is a photographer and artist living in Whitefield, Maine. Her work explores emotional reactions to the outside world from the core within. A graduate of Parson's School of Design in illustration, Durocher has studied drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking in addition to photography. She owns and operates her web and graphic design firm. Durocher moved to Maine in the spring of 2011 after 25 years in New York City. Her work has been seen in a group exhibit at the Soho Photo Gallery, The Park Slope Courier, Schmap Guides, and her book "A Walk in the Park: Photographs of Prospect Park." The public is invited to an opening reception for this exhibit on Friday, May 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lincoln St Center for the Arts, 24 Lincoln Street in Rockland. Jul 21, 2012. The Maine Lobster Ride & Roll offers Maine's most scenic bike rides along winding country lanes and the breathtaking rockbound coast of Midcoast Maine. The ride features four distances, from a family-friendly 16 miles to a route that has been rated by Outdoor Magazine as one of the top centuries in the country. All four routes pass by lakes, lighthouses and lobster boats. All have maps, support services and rest stops with food and water. The queen of the Maine Lobster Ride will greet returning riders with bells ringing! They then will enjoy a fresh Maine lobster roll lunch, with vegetarian and tuna options available. Live footage of the Tour de France will play on a big screen during lunch. Maine’s own world-famous Lobster Bike will be there, too. Lobster Riders get collectible Lobster Ride socks! The ride benefits the Bicycle Coalition's education and advocacy work for better bicycling in Maine. Meet at Oceanside High School (formerly Rockland High School) on 400 Broadway aka Rte 1A.
