Quietside Flamingo Festival

Jul 18 thru Jul 20, 2008. Southwest Harbor. Every year on the weekend after the 4th of July, Southwest Harbor holds its Annual Quietside Festival, a great event for families. Events include a kids carnival, craft fair and a grand Flamingo Parade on Saturday morning. The weekend ends with the famous Polo and Yacht Club cocktail party at the Causeway Club Barn (you don't need to play polo or own a yacht to attend). Acadia Music Festival

Musical performances include a mix of folk, country, bluegrass, jazz, blues, and pop. Mt. Desert Island Garlic Festival

Sep 13, 2008. Southwest Harbor. The MDI Garlic Festival at Smugglers Den Campground has grown into a gathering of numerous local restaurants, musicians, brewers and garlic growers, drawing more than 800 people to the event. Christmas Celebration in Southwest Harbor

Dec 05, 2008. Southwest Harbor. Santa Claus comes to Southwest Harbor! On the first Friday in December join us as we celebrate Christmas with the Town of Southwest Harbor and area businesses. The evening begins with the lighting of the Town's Christmas tree followed by a bonfire and tractor rides starting at the Post Office parking area. There will be refreshments provided and a special visit from Santa! Children will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa upstairs at the Harbor House.
