Aug 10 thru Aug 12, 2012. SummerFest Parade on Sunday, August 12, 2012 is a joyful, entertaining parade completing Van Buren's SummerFest weekend; fun to watch but even more fun to join in; more units welcome until end of July (promo & ad units accepted). The SummerFest parade is staged by GO-Van Buren in cooperation with the Greater Van Buren Chamber of Commerce. It will start at 2 p.m. (sign-in and line-up formation from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Center, 130 Champlain Street). The parade route runs along Main Street (US Route 1) from Champlain Street through downtown to Washington Avenue, approximately 1 mile. It is our goal to present a widely-varied, fun event full of music and noise for the entertainment of the watchers, but we also honor our Acadian heritage and serve area/community interests. Other SummerFest activities include a park festival, fishing derby, and a tractor pull. It is scheduled for the weekend of August 10 to 12.
