Mar 12, 2010. After a brilliant show in 2009, Enter the Haggis returns for a repeat performance. Not for the faint of heart, Enter The Haggis's live show is a musical feast: viscerally dynamic, emotionally uplifting and intellectually stimulating. The band's oeuvre darts effortlessly from the traditional strains of, say, The Chieftains and the Pogues to the frenetic pop of early Elvis Costello and even to the Latin-tinged spirit of the Buena Vista Social Club, and beyond. Come out early and celebrate in style, complete with Lewington's deft guitar playing, the reeling of Brian Buchanan's flawless fiddle, the diverse rhythmic machinations of bassist Mark Abraham and drummer James Campbell, and Craig Downie's transporting pipes, not to mention the near-perfect vocal harmonies.   Map + Directions   |   Report Update

Virginia wondered and wrote: "Dear Editor, I am eight years old. Some of my friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see him in the Sun, it's so. Please tell me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?" Ed Mitchell, the Sun's editor, gives the assignment of answering Virginia's question to Frank Church, who, until his wife and baby died last Christmas Eve, was the Sun's best and most dependable reporter. Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus is a play for young and old, magically reaffirming life's highest beauty and joy-"the eternal light with which childhood fills the world.   Map + Directions   |   Report Update

Camelot - Waterville Opera House

93 Main Street
Waterville, Maine 04901

Apr 09 thru Apr 18, 2010. The entire community of Camelot awaits the arrival of Guenevere, King Arthur of England's future Queen. Members of the audience are quickly drawn in. Some of the enchanting musical numbers include The Simple Joys of Maidenhood, The Lusty Month of May, How to Handle a Woman, I Loved You Once in Silence, If Ever I Would Leave You, and What Do the Simple Folk Do? In the end it is fourteen-year-old Tom who tells the world of Camelot's quest for right and honor and justice. As the first Broadway musical by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe after My Fair Lady, Camelot was as highly anticipated as a coronation. At the time, the advance sale was the largest in Broadway history. The 1960 musical, which turned out to be the last Lerner and Loewe theatrical collaboration, has grown in stature over the years, primarily because of its superb score.   Map + Directions   |   Report Update
