Jun 14 thru Jun 17, 2012. Following on the success of last year's book sale, the Friends of the Portland Public Library are back again with an even larger selection of books, records, CDs and DVDs. The Book Sale will offer tens of thousands of volumes and will take place in Catherine McAuley High School Gymnasium. Friends of the Portland Public Library was created to further the Mission of the Portland Public Library and promote community engagement among Library patrons. Working in close partnership with the Library, the Friends are organizing this Annual Book Sale in which all proceeds benefit the Library. A special "Friends Only" preview will take place on Thursday, June 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. Non-members may join at the door or online. Regular hours are Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m For more info email info@FriendsofPPL.org. Friends of the Scarborough Library Annual Book Sale runs from approximately 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday & Saturday and from approximately noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, which is also Bargain Day. Member preview night on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (you must be a FOSL member to attend the preview but you may join at the door). Our annual book sale has thousands of gently used books for sale. Fiction titles range from penny dreadfuls to Pulitzer prize winners.
