Annual Children's Book Character Party at The Colby Bookstore in the Cotter Union from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There will be story telling, cookie decorating, other fun activities, and the opportunity to meet our special guest, Corduroy Bear. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Phone (207) 859-5400 for your free tickets, or stop by The Colby Bookstore to pick them up. Mar 29 thru Apr 01, 2012. The first annual Portland Children's Film Festival will take place in Portland, Maine from March 29, 2012 through April 1, 2012. The festival is designed to bring high quality independent and international children's films to Maine, as well as to provide multiple opportunities for local students to develop their own filmmaking talents and interact with artists in the filmmaking industry. Film screenings are presently scheduled for five different venues: St. Lawrence Theater, the Nickelodeon, Zero Station, the Portland Museum of Art and East End Community School.
