At the 35th Annual Show, 80 of Maine's finest craftspeople will fill the newly renovated gymnasium and cafeteria at the Mount Desert Island High School (Route 233) with their work, transforming the space into a gallery-like setting of carefully designed individual displays. The organizers, Judith Blank, weaver; Jodie Perry, jeweler; and Linda Perrin, glassblower, have selected thirty five distinguished artisans in a variety of mediums to participate. Some of the exhibitors are quite local, some are from other parts of Maine. With the help of the beauty of the Neighborhood House, we create a simple direct marketplace where artisans bring their wares to town and meet their audience face-to-face. Aug 15, 2009. The Lovell Arts and Artisans Craft Fair held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is a long running juried fair, now in its 34th year. About 55 artisans skilled in all types of art work come to the New Suncook School in Lovell Maine, on the third Saturday of every August. The event benefits the Charlotte Hobbs Library in Lovell as participating artists donate a percentage of their sales to the Library and with a judging of work as a prerequisite for entry, it is a very high quality show. Combined with a large book sale of high quality books, home made refreshments and a raffle of art work donated by ten participating artists, this comes together as a wonderful event.
