Jul 24 thru Jul 26, 2015. Oakland, Maine (gateway to the Belgrade Lakes region) is home to OakFest, an exciting, new annual community event. The 28 square mile town, plus neighboring communities, have a lot to offer. We wanted to throw a celebration to shine more light on the area's farms, organizations, and businesses. Much like the Taste of Waterville, or Augusta's Whatever Family Festival, OakFest brings together people from all over the community to celebrate our awesome town. We are a little different, however, in that we will be having an Open Air Market that includes fresh produce, home goods, and services. Opening day events include a parade, street dance & beer tent. The next day features an open air market, food vendors, crafters, arts, live music and children's section. The final day of the event features a morning triathlon, a chance to paddle, pedal and pound the pavement. For more info click the Title link above.
