Winter Week Family Festival

International Snowmobilers Festival
Feb 01 thru Feb 03, 2008. Madawaska. The International Snowmobilers Festival is held in Madawaska and Edmundston, NB. Snowmobile 400 miles of marked trails on both sides of the border. Mardi Gras 2008

Mardi Gras Fiddlers' Jamboree
Feb 03, 2008. Fort Kent. The 2008 Mardi Gras Fiddlers' Jamoree is an annual jam session and house party. It runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Nowland Hall, 23 University Drive, at UMFK. The Mardi Gras Fiddlers' Jamboree is a tradition in the St. John Valley. Last year, more than 30 musicians performed for an audience of more than 200. Admission is free. Caribou Winter Carnival and Snowmobile Festival
Feb 07 thru Feb 10, 2008. Caribou. The Caribou Winter Carnival features music, dancing, good food, a family fun day, darts, a chocolate festival, cribbage and other family activities. Also during the Winter Carnival is Snowmobile Drag Racing at Collins Pond on February 10. It includes stock, modified and improved sled classes, with cash prizes, more good food and hot drinks. The Chocolate Extravaganza

Derby Fest
Feb 22 thru Feb 24, 2008. Windham. Derby Fest is run by the Sebago Lake Rotary Club. On Friday night there is the Hardwater Classic, Maine's richest purse for car racing on ice. Ice racing for motorcycles as well. The races will be held at Point Sebago Resort. A two-day ice fishing derby starts on Saturday, with over $25,000 in prizes. Also on Saturday is an air show and fly-in at Raymond Beach, with skating, sliding, snowshoeing for the kids and food vendors. Sunday features snowmobile events, including antique snowmobiles, a huge radar run at Raymond Beach and a proposed extreme snowmobile jumping show. Fundraisers for Maine Children's Cancer Program will also jump into the frigid waters (about 34 degrees) of Sebago Lake. Report Update

Feb 22 thru Feb 24, 2008. Casco. Annual Maine Winterfest and Ice Derby. The ice fishing derby is Maine's richest derby. Professional snow and ice carvings, children's activities, entertainment and games. Car and motorcycle ice racing, X-C rate, Fly-in, snowmobile speed runs, "ice mall" shopping, food vendors, "ice cube lounge" and more. FAB Fair
