Mar 02, 2013. Skowhegan's original crafters, non-profit and business fair is happening on Mar. 2nd at Skowhegan Area High School. The event stresses interactive booths and has had all sorts of activities over the years. Don't miss the luck of the draw raffle at 2pm in the cafeteria and the original "Bingo-style" door prize game that has been duplicated at dozens of local fairs across the state. The doors open at 10am and the fair goes until 3pm. The 5th Annual La Fete du Printemps is coordinated by La Societe St. Jean Baptiste de Bienfaisance. Admission to all events is free, thanks to generous sponsorship from City Theater, La Societe St. Jean Baptiste de Bienfaisance, Le Centre de la Francophonie des Ameriques, and the City of Biddeford. Event schedule: Friday, Mar. 22: Biddeford Middle School Student Exhibition, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at McArthur Library, 270 Main Street. This is an exhibition of interactive projects created by students in Mlle. Nicole Fecteau's French classes at Biddeford Middle School. "A Walk Back in Time: Biddeford's Franco American History;" "Famous Franco- Americans;" "Spoon Playing," "Delicious French Desserts;" and much more. Next on Friday is Crowfoot in Concert, 7:30 p.m., City Theater, 205 Main Street. Hailing from England, Canada, and the United States, Crowfoot is a trio of acoustic musicians who love to create new music inspired by their collective cultural roots. While drawing on deep traditions, their music is always in the moment and alive. Crowfoot's acoustic palette is wide; rich vocal harmonies sung in English and French are interwoven with flute, fiddle, guitar, accordion, cello, mandolin, cittern, and piano. Saturday, Mar. 23: French Student Multimedia Presentations, 7:30 p.m., City Theater, 205 Main Street. This is an evening of multimedia presentations by the students of Katy Nicketakis' French IV class from Thornton Academy. Captured in student-made videos, the performances range from several short Franco-American plays to student interviews with relatives in Quebec to cooking demonstrations. Sunday, Mar. 24: Student Spotlight on Dance, Song, Theater and Art, 2 p.m., City Theater, 205 Main Street. Franco-American culture spotlighted in dance, song, theater and art. Students from Biddeford High School, Biddeford Middle School and Thornton Academy will all contribute to a great afternoon of fun. Mar 30, 2013. Downtown Easter in Biddeford. From 10 a.m. to 11 .a.m. kids are invited to start their day at Rotary Park for an Egg Hunt. Pre-Registration is required at the Rec Department (189 Alfred Street) by April 5. The egg hunt is free for Biddeford residents, $2 for non-residents. After the egg hunt, come on downtown for some new traditions! From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., pick up a game piece at the Heart of Biddeford, and travel around downtown looking for Bunnies in store windows. At 1 p.m. the movie "Hop" will be shown free at Engine Gallery at 265 Main Street. We'll have popcorn, and comfortable floor seating for families.
