Pies on Parade - Rockland's Pie Tour

The whole town of Rockland, ME will go pie-crazy on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 1 to 5 p.m. when the Historic Inns of Rockland are joined by Rockland, ME businesses and restaurants to welcome hungry pie eaters to the town for the 8th Annual Pies on Parade Pie Tour. Sample more than 45 different pies at restaurants and inns throughout Rockland and enjoy tours of common areas and some guest rooms at the inns. Tickets for the Pies on Parade Inn-to-Inn Tour are $25 for adults and $10 for children ten and under. Tickets sell out quickly, are available from participating inns only (not additional participating Rockland businesses), and include some take-home recipes and plenty of pie to sample. To order tickets in advance, call 877-ROC-INNS (877-762-4667) or 596-6611. This promises to be the biggest pie event in New England.

Rockland, dubbed "Pie Town USA" by the Food Network when Bobby Flay visited for a pie throwdown, is living up to its name as planning is underway for the 8th annual pie-a-thon to celebrate National Pie Day (National Pie Day is celebrated each year on Jan 23rd). Jan 28, 2012. OOB Savor the Flavor features a progressive dinner & reverse pub crawl. Join the fun with this progressive dinner event. The trolley will pick us up across from The Brunswick at the Mount Royal Motel on West Grand Avenue. You will be whisked away to several of Old Orchard Beach's tastiest establishments for a progressive dinner. When we are done, the trolley will return us to The Brunswick, where we will end the night with live entertainment. First stop is a Surprise! Second stop is The Whaler for a welcome drink. Third stop is Bell Buoy for a tempting Appetizer. Fourth stop is JJ's Eatery Too for some hot soup or crisp salad. Fifth stop is Yellowfin for a tasty entree. Sixth stop is the Captains Galley for a succulent dessert with coffee/tea. Final stop is The Brunswick where we will have live entertainment. Event begins at 4:45 p.m. at 30 West Grand Avenue in OOB and the Trolley leaves at 5 p.m. sharp.
