Auditions - St. Cecilia Chamber Choir

Aug 22 thru Aug 29, 2008. Damariscotta. St. Cecilia Chamber Choir is holding auditions for all voice parts for the coming season. The Choir sings a variety of challenging repertoire, using a straight-tone style of singing in the English choral tradition. Rehearsals are in Newcastle on Wednesday nights, and the Choir performs in Newcastle and Brunswick regularly, with occasional concerts in other Maine cities. The Choir is directed by Linda Blanchard and accompanied by Sean Fleming, both of Damariscotta. Singers should have good vocal control, and sopranos and altos should be able to sing without vibrato. Tenors and basses need not be able to sing with a straight tone. The ability to read music is preferred but not required.
