Jun 02, 2012. James Cotton, called Cotton by his friends, was born on the first day of July, 1935, in Tunica, MS. From a very young age, he and his harp (harmonica) have been inseparable. In 1954, after a chance meeting, he became the harp player for Muddy Waters and remained there for 12 years. There are nights he blows his harmonica so hard the keys fall out in his hand, and he is known as the ultimate showman. 2012 will be his 68th year in the entertainment business, and this will be a memorable evening with a true Living Legend of the Blues.
