Since its inception, From the Top has proven to be one of the most popular and fastest-growing classical music programs on radio and television. The mix of serious music, light-hearted skits, and informal interviews spotlights the talent and passion of the young musicians, satisfying new listeners and long-time followers alike. Mar 25, 2010. Troy MacGillivray has a roots-centered approach to his fiddling and piano playing that has the power to inspire. His 4th CD, Live At The Music Room, is the 2008 ECMA Instrumental Recording of the Year. Kimberley Fraser was born on Cape Breton Island and nurtured within its rich musical heritage. She first began to impress audiences at the age of three with her step-dancing talents. Soon after that she took up both the fiddle and the piano. Kimberley has shared the stage with Alasdair Fraser, Lunasa and Martin Hayes. Kimberley is also in demand for her piano skills, accompanying various Cape Breton fiddlers at home and abroad. She had the honour of being the pianist for the acclaimed Irish musical group, Cherish the Ladies, during their tour of Sweden in May of 2004. Tickets $10. Mar 25, 2010. Since their inception, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band went from a hippe hillbilly jug band to a huge part of the southern rock and folk history. "Circle be Unbroken" and its follow up has won multiple grammys, and awards, and the original album remains such a significant effort that 30 years later it was one of 50 recordings to be honored and preserved by the Library of Congress. Their version of "Mister Bojangles" will be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame this year, and soon after that they will climb up the hill to see us here at Stone Mountain. Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter and John McEuen are still going strong and we are very honored to have this great group here in our humble barn.   Map + Directions   |   Report Update

Mar 26, 2010. Rhett Miller is the front man and main songwriter of the hard-charging rock 'n' roll quartet the Old 97's, as well as an accomplished solo artist. In addition to his seven records with the 97's, he's released two highly regarded solo albums, The Instigator (2002) and The Believer (2006). Rhett continues to balance his solo endeavors with his membership in the Old 97's. The still-active quartet, which was prominently featured in the Jennifer Aniston/Vince Vaughn romantic comedy, The Break Up, will release their next full-length studio album, Blame It On Gravity, on May 13.
