Coming together from musical training at Curtis, Eastman, Indiana, Juilliard, Oberlin, and San Francisco State College, the quartet members have played an important role in the artistic renaissance of the State of Maine, championing Maine and American composers both nationally and internationally. For over 40 years they have played together and for 20 years they served as the artists in residence at Colby College. From the Beautiful Historic Concert Hall of Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt, Austria and shown on screen in HD at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center is the Haydn Commemoration Concert, "The Creation." The Creation is an oratorio written between 1796 and 1798 by Joseph Haydn, and considered by many to be his masterpiece. The oratorio depicts and celebrates the creation of the world as described in the biblical Book of Genesis and in Paradise Lost. Featuring Annette Dasch - soprano, Christoph Strehl - tenor, Thomas Quasthoff - bass-baritone, The Vienna Chamber Choir, Austro-Hungarian Haydn Philharmonic with Conductor Adam Fischer.
