Sep 10 thru Sep 12, 2010. The Annual Tow Show has been cancelled in 2011. Organizers hope to conduct the event again in 2012. The Towing and Recovery Association of Maine (TRAM) will be holding its annual Tow & Trade Expo at Memorial Park on Heath Street in Old Orchard Beach. We're kicking off the event with a "Friday Night Lights" parade on September 10th at 8:30 p.m. along OOB. This is a spectacular light show with beautiful trucks. Weekend events will include vendors, exhibitors, competitions, rollover demonstrations, Saturday evening social and more. There will be a truck beauty contest on Sunday. Sep 04, 2011. The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland's 14th Annual Paws in the Park Dog Walk. Join in the fun and help homeless animals. The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland's (ARLGP) annual fundraiser, Paws in the Park, is scheduled for Sunday, September 4, 2011 in Portland's Payson Park located on Baxter Boulevard. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the dog walk at 11 a.m. This event is held rain or shine. The proceeds will help provide food, shelter, emergency, and preventative veterinary care, as well as provide new beginnings for the more than 4,000 animals who come through the shelter's doors each year. Paws in the Park is one of The Animal Refuge League's most highly publicized fundraisers. This year the ARLGP is adding a Furry Friends Road Race (that will take place prior to Paws in the Park at 9 a.m. - separate registration) in celebration of their 100th anniversary of caring for homeless animals and they are depending on walkers, runners and teams to make this the most successful year yet!
