The Orr's & Bailey Islands Fire Department will hold its annual auction and yard sale on August 13 and 14 at the fire station at 1600 Harpswell Islands Road, Route 24, Orr's Island. A giant yard sale and silent auction will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The live auction of antiques, art and other donated items will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday, with preview and registration beginning at 9 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available both days. All proceeds benefit the Orr's & Bailey Islands Fire Department, which serves Orr's, Bailey and part of Great Island in Harpswell. Aug 27, 2011. McLaughlin Garden's Annual Action is a not-to-miss event that includes food and beverages, entertainment and a fantastic auction. Silent auction items are predominantly made by Maine artisans. Live auction items range from trips to rare plants such as a tri-colored beech. This year tickets have been reduced from $60 to $35 to allow more people the opportunity to attend. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling (207) 743-8820 or at the Garden.
