Nov 04 thru Nov 05, 2011. The Children's Nursery School 36th Annual Grand Bazaar and Silent Auction is held at Williston West Church, 32 Thomas Street in Portland. The Grand Bazaar kicks off with a huge silent auction on Friday evening with refreshments and affordable childcare and concludes with fun for the whole family on Saturday - children's activities, music, and food. There is no better way to spend a weekend in November. Get your kids into a fun space, do a little holiday shopping, and enjoy the sounds and spirit of a great West End tradition. The proceeds raised allow for an assistant teacher in the classroom, new materials and activities. This year, our three raffle items are 1) a case of assorted fine wines, 2) a $200 Whole Foods gift certificate and 3) a Casco Bay sailboat ride. Raffle tickets are available the day of the Bazaar or in advance by contacting Resa Jones at resabird@gmail.com. Silent auction items include jewelry, artisan works, and gift certificates to Portland's best boutiques and restaurants. The Annual PICA Auction raises money for our own work and to help support Bangor's sister city of Carasque, El Salvador. Nov 26, 2011. The next Down East Ski Sale will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Portland Expo Building on Park Avenue near the ballpark. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the sale goes until 5 p.m. For many, standing in line waiting for the sale to open is a tradition, but with over 10,000 pieces of ski equipment: boots, skis, snowboards, bindings, helmets, clothing and poles, great deals can be found all day long! The general public may bring their ski related items to enter into the sale Friday November 26th, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.. There is a $1.00 registration fee per item, and 20% commission is charged if the item is sold.
