Jun 05, 2010. The Maine Educational Theatre Association would like to invite you to participate in the first annual Maine Young Playwrights Festival on June 5, 2010 at Bonny Eagle HS in Standish, ME. The Festival will offer an opportunity for student works to jump to life off of the page and be seen and heard for the first time. The Maine Young Playwrights Festival will feature new plays written by high school student playwrights. To encourage participation and get as many student works on stage as possible, the format will be wide open to allow presentation of works in length from 10 to 40 minutes, and in any presentational style from a simple reading to a staged reading to a fully-staged production and anywhere in between. The student plays will be presented at 7 p.m. in a production open to the public.
