The event is a series of canoe treks. Aug 03 thru Aug 06, 2011. The Annual Sturdivant Island Tuna Tournament at Spring Point Marina in South Portland. All boats must be registered to the Sturdivant Island Tuna Tournament. A representative from each registered vessel must be present and signed in prior to the Captain’s Meeting held on Wednesday August 3, 2011. Any vessel that is not signed in prior to 7 p.m. at the Tournament Tent on that date will not be eligible to fish for that tournament year. Fishing may commence at 12 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011 and will conclude at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011. Tournament scales will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, and all vessels with fish to be weighed must be tied to the scales dock at Spring Point Marina (rafting is acceptable) by that time. Aug 12 thru Aug 14, 2011. The Town of Fort Kent, Maine together with the Fort Kent International Muskie Derby Committee is pleased to announce the Annual Fort Kent International Muskie Fishing Derby. The derby begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12 and the scales will be open until 5 p.m. on Sunday evening. Muskie fishing is considered one of the greatest freshwater sports fish challenges in all of North America. The scenic St. John River has over 225 miles of prime habitat for Muskie fishing. This beautiful natural environment has been proven to be an unlimited resource for this sport-fishing event. Join us and discover just how much fun fishing can be when you do it together. No activity can bond a family together quite like fishing. It's a great way for families to have fun, create new memories and spend a weekend together. The Fort Kent International Muskie Derby is expanding to include towns located along the St. John River. Participating towns will be allowed to have a "Convenience Weigh Station" for anglers that may be fishing in a given town along the river.
