Ten races: Boothbay Harbor (June 18); Rockland (June 19); Mosabec Reach near Jonesport (July 2); Searsport (July 9), Stonington (July 10); Friendship (July 23); Harpswell (July 24); Winter Harbor (August 13); Pemaquid (August 14) and the MS Regatta Harborfest in Portland (August 21). All races begin at 10 a.m., weather and sea conditions permitting. Jul 08 thru Aug 07, 2011. The Androscoggin River Source to the Sea Trek highlights sections of the 174-mile long Androscoggin River, raising environmental awareness along the way. The event is a series of canoe treks. Please join us for one or any of the multiple segments: July 8 - Kickoff sunset paddle on Lake Umbagog; July 9 - Errol to 7 Islands Bridge; July 10 - 7 Islands Bridge to Pontook Dam; July 14 - Bofinger Conservation Area to Northern Forest Heritage Park; July 15 - Shelburne to Gilead; July 16 - Gilead to Bethel; July 17 - Bethel to Hanover; July 21 - Hanover to Rumford; July 22 - Mexico to Dixfield; July 23 - Dixfield to Riley Dam in Jay; July 24 - Riley Dam to Otis Mill; July 28 - Livermore Falls segment to be announced; July 29 - Twin Bridges to Center Bridge in Turner; July 30 - Center Bridge to Gulf Island Dam; July 31 - Lewiston/Auburn area round-trip; Aug. 4 - Sunset paddle in Auburn; Aug. 5 - Auburn to Durham; Aug. 6 - Durham to Lisbon Falls; Aug. 7 - Lisbon Falls to Brunswick. Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race

Jul 10, 2011. The Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race is an amateur race competition of 6 miles, with possible class I rips and easy class II rapids. See Title link above for race fees and T-shirt availability. Several sandwich/ice cream shops are within half a mile of the take-out site. Race day registration typically starts at 9 a.m. at the Durham Boat Launch on Rte. 136 near the Auburn/Durham line. (This launch site is not the Durham River Park also on Rte. 136.) Leave enough time to get on the river for the 11 a.m. mass start. The race finish is just under the railroad trestle where the Sabattus River joins the Androscoggin on Rte. 196 in Lisbon.
