"For the past two years, Maine.Info has provided web hosting to the Maine Artists Residency Corporation (MARC) free of charge. MARC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide two Maine artists per summer with studio space at Carina House on Monhegan Island off the Maine coast, a small stipend, and five weeks of uninterrupted time for creative exploration and activity. The main activity of the Board of Directors of MARC is to raise funds and build awareness for the Carina House residencies. The website has proven to be an essential tool in this endeavor - for publicizing, promoting, and documenting the program to artists who might want to apply, to the general public and to potential donors.
