Located on 4,700 acres in Limestone, Maine (formerly part of the Loring Air Force Base).  Diversity of wildlife species in an area of Maine where the landscape supports agricultural crops such as potatoes and broccoli.

 

 

Caribou-Speckled Mountain WildernessCaribou-Speckled Mountain Wilderness

12,000 acres encompassing both Caribou Mountain and Speckled Mountain.  Steep terrain and multiple ridges and ledges amidst a northern hardwood forest.  Many streams and ponds are in the area, plus a good many scenic (often steep) trails ranging up to 6 miles or so in length.
