Portland Docks at Dawn

At the junction of Commercial and India streets yo'll find the Eastern Promenade Trail and a view of the old pilings as well as the newer docks.

Fishing Boat at Five Islands

Down Rte. 127, Five Islands, Georgetown has a working dock and lobster co-op and the views are phenomenal. Rent a boat and head over to Boothbay Harbor or enjoy nearby Reid State Park.

Wells Reserve Beach

Nature trails, woods, and the beach can be found at the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve, also known as Laudholm Farm.

Hamilton House

Hamilton House is open to the public for guided tours. There are beautiful gardens and a fine view of the Salmon Falls River. Sarah Orne Jewett used the house as the setting for one of her novels in the 1800s.

You can see all the small islands in Cape Porpoise Harbor, as well as a good stretch of the mainland.

Hendricks Head Light

This 1829 lighthouse sits on the Sheepscot River. Not open to the public but can be viewed from a beach in West Southport, and some cruises from Bath and Boothbay Harbor pass by.
