Many of the Maine singles websites that we formerly pointed to in the past have ceased operations. We will look again for more. We already have a start (see below). In addition, we list some singles and dating sites run by the major playors in this field. They cover Maine extensively, but are not Maine-based operations:
Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine - Type "Singles" in Search Box
The Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine is a nice resource for Jewish singles in the Portland area who are looking for social activities. The JCA runs a number of "Salsa Dancing" nights, ski excursions and other get-together opportunites for singles in Portland, Maine and nearby towns. To find what is happening, use the Search Box at the upper right-hand side of any page of the website, and type in "singles." A list of social events will magically appear! Many of these "break the ice" social/meeting events are run by Mah Atah M'Chapes, a 21-39 social group.
This nationwide singles site includes, among its number, hundreds of Maine singles, and many more New England singles as well. Simply change your search preference and you may find the perfect match, whether in Maine, in surrounding New England states or beyond. You can limit your search to the most active singles (those who have logged on most recently).
A nationwide matchmaking service, eHarmony is geared towards serious, mature-minded singles looking for a long-term relationship. As a guest, you must answer 500 questions profiling a great number of relationship issues. This creates a free personality profile. Matches may be reviewed, again for free, before membership (with different time-frame options) is required.
