Jun 26, 2016. The annual Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital Bike and Boat at the Katahdin Boat Dock is fun for all ages! Join us for a 19.5 mile cycle ride that begins at the Katahdin Boat dock in Greenville and ends at the Rockwood Boat dock overlooking Mt. Kineo. Family and friends enjoy a delightful ride on the historic "Katahdin" from Greenville to Rockwood to pick up the cyclists and return to live music, great food and fun. All funds raised from this event benefit patient care at Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Jun 04, 2017. The Bicycle Coalition of Maine's Women's Ride is a celebration of women and bicycling. The event offers a friendly, supportive atmosphere geared toward girls and women of all ages and abilities. The routes (10, 25, 50 or 62 mile options) follow quiet roads, offering beautiful views of the Maine coast and countryside. All rides begin and end at L.L. Bean's Discovery Park. There are rest stops, healthy snacks and support vehicles along the way. Upon your return, you'll be welcomed with music, yoga and a party! We'll have free munchies, music and lots of door prizes. Jun 11, 2017. The Kennebunks Tour de Cure is a one-day celebration bringing together cyclists of all ages and levels starting at Wells Reserve at Laudholm. With five route length options anyone can participate. All routes, except the 5K follow Maine's scenic coastline, featuring rocky coves, sandy beaches and breath-taking vacation homes, all in the bicycle-friendly community of Southern Maine. Our routes range from a family-friendly 5K on low traffic neighborhood roads to a challenging 100- mile Century ride that includes hilly terrain and the rolling farmlands of York County. All routes include rest stops with refreshments, mechanical support, and medical volunteers to fuel and cheer your journey. Jun 16 thru Jun 18, 2017. Join the American Lung Association for the annual Trek Across Maine on Father's Day weekend, June 16 through 18, 2017. From the mountains at Sunday River to the sea in Belfast, cycle 180 miles across the state of Maine. This ride is fully supported by volunteers and trained medical staff, including support vehicles along the route and three rest stops daily . There is a new 2 day option for those of you that can’'t get away for a 3 day vacation. Join us Saturday and Sunday and enjoy the Trek experience. We are always looking for volunteers to help us support the Trek Across Maine. We have many volunteer opportunities available. The route options are as follows: Regular Route starts on Day 1 from Sunday River to University of Maine at Farmington (approximately 67 miles with 3 rest stops located on route); continues on Day 2 at the University of Maine at Farmington to Colby College (approximately 57 miles with 3 rest stops located on route & 1 water stop; concludes on Day 3 starting at Colby College to Belfast (approximately 56 miles with 3 rest stops located on route & last mile staging stop. The Two Day Route starts on Day 1 (June 17) at Colby Loop Route and continues around the Waterville area (approximately 41 miles); continues on Day 2 from Colby College to Belfast (approximately 56 miles). There is also a Colby Loop Route limited to 200 riders with Day 1 from Sunday River to UMF shuttled to Colby College to sleep (approximately 67 miles); continuing Day 2 with the Colby Loop Route around Waterville (approximately 41 miles); and concluding on Day 3 from Colby College to Belfast (approximately 56 miles). Registration is $65 (non-refundable). Three-day fundraising requirement is $550 per person ($400 for ages 7 to 17). Two-day fundraising requirement is $450 per person ($350 for ages 7 to 17). The age limit is 7 years and up. Children between the ages of 7 and 12 must ride a tandem or tag-a-long bike with adult guardian. All children under the age of 18 must have an adult guardian with them at all times on the route. Child and guardian are both required to meet the fundraising minimum.
