Moonshine Rhythm Club - The Dance Hall

7 Walker Street
Kittery, Maine 03904
Phone: (207) 703-2083

Apr 22, 2017. Moonshine Rhythm Club brings old-school swing and jazz to life with joyful arrangements and energetic playing that makes this vintage music sound like it was written this morning. The boys seek out deep cuts from the 30s and 40s, take their favorite parts from classic big band recordings, and distill them into their signature sound. That sound draws on the guitar-driven, acoustic fire of gypsy jazz, as well as the slow burn and laid-back groove of later artists like Count Basie and Nat King Cole. On top of this lays classy and hip vocals with a lighthearted humor. Concert at 8 p.m. Event #19103 |   Report Update   |   Submit An Event   |   Shop Amazon

Apr 27, 2017. Melissa Ferrick's 17th release is a coming home. She has arrived in a place musically that is both familiar and new. Melissa is a better writer, engineer, producer, and overall artist. The self-titled album is, in many ways, a new beginning for Ferrick. Written in just over a year, recorded at home, and released on her own relaunched label, Right On Records, Ferrick has given us a simple, eloquent, and honest acoustic album with an undeniable level of maturity. For long-time fans, this will be a welcome new arrival. For those who are just discovering Ferrick, this is a superb way to be introduced. A completely solo effort in its process, creation, and release, Melissa Ferrick is marking the middle of her career with a perfect return to songwriting, and to herself. Apr 29, 2017. One of American folk music's most prolific and profound singer/songwriters of the past three decades, Greg Brown has earned respect from his peers and a far-flung, passionately-devoted fan-base via a burnished, intimate baritone, a seemingly effortless gift for swinging, organic melody and, perhaps most of all, a humble, unvarnished poetic grace that can imbue even the most mundane, everyday human endeavors and emotions with quiet dignity, startling insight and gently twisted humor.
